Connect your child to their roots β€” in Hausa, Igbo & Yoruba.

Whether your child is a heritage learner reconnecting with their culture or a complete beginner, our expert native-speaking tutors deliver live, personalised language lessons via Zoom β€” tailored to every age and ability.

Language is the heartbeat of culture.

Growing up between two cultures can mean children feel disconnected from their Nigerian roots. Our language classes give them the gift of belonging β€” so they can speak with grandparents, celebrate traditions, and carry their heritage forward.

Cultural Connection
Speak with grandparents, aunties and uncles β€” and feel truly at home in both worlds.
🧠
Cognitive Benefits
Bilingual and multilingual children show stronger memory, problem-solving and academic performance.
🌍
Identity & Confidence
Children who know their language carry a stronger sense of identity β€” and the pride that comes with it.

Two types of learners. One expert approach.

We adapt to every child β€” whether they’ve never heard the language or grew up hearing it at home.

🏠
Heritage Learners

Your child hears the language at home but never learned it formally. They understand some words but can't speak fluently β€” or feel shy trying. We build on what they already carry inside them.

  • βœ“ Build on existing exposure and intuition
  • βœ“ Develop reading, writing and formal fluency
  • βœ“ Gain confidence speaking with family
  • βœ“ Cultural context woven into every lesson
🌱
Complete Beginners

Your child has never learned the language but you want to give them that connection. We start from the very beginning with engaging, age-appropriate lessons that make learning feel like discovery.

  • βœ“ Start from zero β€” no prior knowledge needed
  • βœ“ Fun, structured lessons built for children
  • βœ“ Pronunciation, vocabulary and conversation
  • βœ“ Progress at your child's own pace

Questions about our language classes.

Do my children need any prior knowledge to start? +
Not at all. We welcome complete beginners as warmly as heritage speakers. Our tutors will assess your child first and build a plan from exactly where they are β€” there is no minimum requirement, no placement test pressure, and no expectation that your child already knows anything.
Can siblings learn different languages at the same time? +
Yes. Each child gets their own personalised plan and dedicated tutor. We can even arrange sessions back to back on the same day to make scheduling easier for your family. Many of our families have two or three siblings learning different languages simultaneously with great results.
Are your language tutors native speakers? +
Yes β€” every language tutor is a verified native speaker with proven teaching experience. We believe authentic pronunciation, tonal accuracy and cultural context can only be taught by someone who grew up with the language. All of our Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa tutors were born and raised speaking the language and have been vetted through our full four-stage process.
How long before my child can hold a conversation? +
It varies by child, age and how often they practise between sessions β€” but most heritage learners are having basic conversations within 8 to 12 weeks. Complete beginners typically reach conversational level within 4 to 6 months with consistent weekly sessions. Children who practise a little between each lesson progress noticeably faster. We'll set realistic milestones during the consultation.
Can my child learn more than one Nigerian language? +
Absolutely. Many of our families come from mixed-language backgrounds β€” for example, a Yoruba mother and an Igbo father β€” and want their children to speak both. We arrange separate dedicated tutors for each language and many children find the second language easier once they have grounding in the first. Discuss this during your free consultation and we will plan accordingly.

Give your child the gift of their language.

Book a free consultation and tell us which language β€” or languages β€” your child would like to learn. We’ll match them with the right native-speaking tutor and create a personalised plan, with no obligation.

Home Class Network was founded on a simple belief β€” that high-quality tutoring should be accessible, personal, and genuinely transformative for every child
